“We Can Do It! How to Manage a Report” – A Step Forward for Transparency in Public Administrations

Milan, October 7, 2024 – The “We Can Do It! How to Manage a Report” workshop concluded successfully today at the headquarters of the Metropolitan City of Milan. The event, organized by ANCI Lombardia in collaboration with Transparency International Italia and supported by the Metropolitan City of Milan, was aimed at public administration offices.

The workshop host several key figures from public administrations, including those responsible for internal reporting channels, human resource managers, heads of corruption-prone areas, and Anti-Corruption and Transparency Officers (RPCT).

Led by experts from ANCI Lombardia and Transparency International Italia, the workshop provided a valuable opportunity to engage in practical exercises on how to manage reports effectively.

At the opening of the event, Antonio Sebastiano Purcaro, Secretary General of the Metropolitan City of Milan, emphasized the importance of collaboration between public entities. “The synergy between ANCI Lombardia, the Metropolitan City of Milan, and local authorities,” Purcaro stated, “is essential to strengthening anti-corruption measures in our institutions, ensuring transparency and integrity.

Carmine Pacente, President of the Europe and International Cooperation Department of ANCI Lombardia, highlighted the value of practical, hands-on training: “Direct dialogue with sector experts and the exchange of experiences among administrations were key elements for the success of this initiative. This type of approach offers added value to Public Administrations, enabling them to tackle the challenges of transparency and integrity in a concrete and operational manner.”

Giorgia Pasciullo, Project Manager of the SAFE-IN project, also reiterated the workshop’s central goals: “This program has provided participants with concrete tools to effectively manage potential reports of wrongdoing and foster an organizational culture based on transparency.”

The workshop is part of the SAFE-IN project, co-financed by the European Commission through its Anti-Fraud Program.

The SAFE-IN project continues to serve as a valuable resource in supporting Public Administrations in adopting effective measures against corruption and managing internal reports, ensuring compliance with regulations and protecting whistleblowers.
